Program/Executive Director Position

Lifeline Partnership, a non-profit organization established to nurture and support the spiritual and social growth of persons with developmental disabilities, seeks a caring, dynamic, and creative professional to serve as its Program/Executive Director.  The Program/Executive Director is the sole regular employee of the organization, reports to the Board of Directors, and is responsible for its day-to-day management.

Essential Duties:

  • Programming: Plan, coordinate and implement activities for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities focusing on Building Community, Creating Independence and Fitness and Health. Programming may be held virtually, in-person at the Lifeline site or in-person at participants’ homes.

  • Administration: Manage and execute administrative duties for the organization including Communication, Finances, and Board of Directors engagement.

  • Fundraising: Partner with the Board to lead Lifeline’s fundraising by engaging donors, developing communication materials, and overseeing fundraising events and activities.

  • Strategic Planning: Partner with the Board to develop and execute Lifeline’s strategic plan and vision. Monitor trends and key changes in the developmental disability community (policies, legal and educational theory).

 

  • Engagement with the Washington D.C. area Disability Community: Connect with like-minded organizations, and network with appropriate D.C. government agencies, parents, guardians, caregivers, and group home staff.

 

  • Relationship with First Trinity Lutheran Church: Network and communicate with First Trinity staff, leadership, and congregation.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in human or social services preferred.

 

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with faith-based organizations. Knowledge of Christian doctrine and educational theory.

 

  • Three (3) years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and two (2) years of experience in program management for persons with developmental disabilities strongly preferred.

 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including social media expertise.

 

  • Networking skills, fundraising ability, and a public relations instinct.

 

  • Ability to initiate and take ownership of successful program execution.

 

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
